TouchEngine 101 - The Ultimate TouchDesigner & Unreal Engine Integration
I designed and led TouchEngine 101: The Ultimate TouchDesigner & UE5 Integration, a 3.5-hour workshop that introduced artists and developers to the creative potential of running TouchDesigner natively inside Unreal Engine 5. The goal was to demystify the TouchEngine plugin and show how it can replace fragile OSC/NDI pipelines with a direct and stable workflow.
Together with Aristotle Roufanis, I guided participants through the full setup—installing the plugin, creating TouchDesigner components, and linking them to Blueprints inside UE5. We explored real examples of exchanging CHOP, DAT, and TOP data between the two platforms, working with custom parameters, and ensuring synchronization for smooth performance.


To put everything into practice, we built a virtual gallery in UE5 featuring interactive TouchDesigner works running through TouchEngine. This hands-on project allowed participants to apply what they had learned and see how TouchDesigner can expand UE5’s creative possibilities with sensors, generative visuals, and live data.
